the devil and his eggs...

Truth be told, I am horrilbe not too good in the kitchen.  The hubs does a majority of the cooking in our casa, which I am sure for that Ava is greatful.  If I had it my way, vegetables would be outlawed, and our pantry would consist of chips and bread, while the fridge would be stocked full of chip dip, dt. mt. dew, and pepsi. I'm just sayin...

Luckly for Ava, Daddy feels differently about food ((if I were being completely honest, I would just go ahead and admit that I have food anxiety.  seriously.  we are talking sweaty palms, hives, and sheer panic before my food arrives at our table in a restaurant.  but that is an entirely seperate post.)) and so he is sure to make things like ranch style beans, spaghetti, meatloaf, and the like.

The only few times I do cook, it is for Ava's school commitments.  Sandwiches, cookies, finger foods and the like.  Today is her "Thanksgiving Luncheon" at school, so that means parents had to sign up to bring a dish.  The catch was that it had to be "ready to serve". So what did the Hubs sign Ava me up for?  None other than deviled eggs.  Easy peasy, right?  Sure, if you like to make things to taste.  The catch for me is I loathe all condiments.  no mustard, mayo, ketchup, ranch, or italian dressing for me. double-yuck.  so when my momma told me that they were so easy, you just mix the egg yolk with mayo and a little bit of mustard to taste, I threw up in my mouth a little  got a little nauseous.

After I regained my composure, I googled a recipe that had actual measurements of the nasty said ingredients.

Well, they look right.  I will leave the tasting  up to the 4-year-olds and their parents at the party :)

Fingers crossed that I can get some santa shopping done for A while she is spending the day with her Daddy Steve this weekend.  If all goes as planned, I will also be stopping by here on Saturday!

Gah, I wish I was there with you, I would have tasted/eaten all of them. For some weird reason I adore deviled eggs. :) But I'm with you on what I wish my pantry looked like. I'm all about chips, bread, and cheese. :)
