Guilty as charged.

Adorable...

I know I'm her Mom, so my opinion doesn't really count. But I just had to show you how adorable Ava looked before school this morning. Such a big girl **sigh**

Thoughts....

About Boston...

• Where I have been for the last 24 hours.

•The airport I am currently in.

• The name of my future son if we should ever make up our minds on wether or not we should add to our family. ((hubs doesn't like this name---but I LOVE it.))

•The name that's on Ava's present ((I get her a t-shirt every time I travel for work...she loves them :). ))

Boston is beautiful!! I would love to come back and really spend some time in the city! I am grateful for a job that takes me to some pretty great places!

weekend recap...

ahhh  --- it has been a pretty great Tuesday!  I am finally  back to my "normal' job after spending what ended up being  almost 8 weeks in a different department!  I LOVED filling in--it was new and exciting and I was swamped --but there is also something so refreshing about a routine!  I missed my own desk and belongings!  It is so nice to read my emails in Outlook rather than remoting in everyday!

This weekend started off a little rough with a phone call from Ava's school on Friday Afternoon.  She was apparently running a fever and had gotten a horrible cough with weezing.  Justin after thowing a complete bitch fit on the phone loving left work early to get her from school while I finished up at the office.  Poor girl was weezing rediculously when I got home and just didn't feel good so we just snuggled and watched her favorite cartoons.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First thing Saturday morning I put in a call to her doctor's office and we were in luck -- her doctor was actually the one who was on call (they rotate their saturday doctors)) and we were able to get an appointment at 10:30 a.m.   He had seen Ava almost exactly one month prior to this visit with the exact same symptoms.  No infection of any kind --just weezing brought on to her allergies that kicked it into high gear on her on Friday.  Soo----Dr. T is 99 % sure Priss has asthma.  Her daddy had it really bad with he was a kid, but thankfully grew out of it.  Fingers crossed the same will be for Ava.  Time will tell! In the mean time, he sent us home with a script for a breathing machine and instructions on when to administer the treatment.  She had treatments 3 times a day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  Today we cut it down to twice a day for the next three days, then once a day for the next three days after that.  Hopefully she will be able to stop the treatments after that.  Then we just wait to see if she shows the same symptoms again with her allergies.  While it is no fun to have to do it--it is TOTALLY manageable, and could have been so much worse!  Plus, she looks freakin adorable in the mask :)

So our weekend plans got cancelled ((we were supposed to go to a graduation party and Ava was supposed to go to her very first sleep over ))  but it was okay.  We had a relaxing day/night at home.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Sunday we I cleaned house while Justin went to watch the Cowboys get there butts kicked lose the BIG game.  Afterwards we did something I never thought I would be so excited to do---we went to Lowes to look at washers!!  ((you know your an adult when...))  At first sight I so badly wanted the front loading whirlpool duet.  She was beautiful.  The hubs played a mean hand and told me it was my decision.  ughh...I wish he would just tell me I couldn't spend $700 on a washer ((we don't need a dryer)).  Even though it was beautiful I just couldn't take the plunge.  Besides, I would have needed the set to make my dreams come true.  So I settled for a top loading whirlpool.  It is a HUGE upgrade from what I had before.  Don't believe me?  See for yourself...

See?  I told you!  How aweful is that washer?!?!  Hubs got it from his parents when he got his first apartment, it was the first washer they bought as a married couple.  That makes it  like 22 years old!  Lets just say, it's seen better days.  I will not miss manually spinning out my clothes before they went in the dryer.  Seriously.

My new beauty was delivered yesterday ((LOVE lowes --they deliever AND pick up the old appliances the NEXT day!))  I was in hog heaven lastnight doing laundry ((don't worry--I am sure  this will pass after the new wears off)).

-------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday was a Holiday for me.  Justin went to work while Ava and I hung out at home waiting on the washer to be delievered.  It was beauiful yesteday, so we spent some time outside at the park.  Super fun!

Yesterday while Ava napped I busted out the home videos of my sweet adorable baby Ava and got the worst case of baby fever I have EVER had!  You forget how thier whole face lights up when you say their name, or how your heart melts when they say "mama".  I would have another baby tomorrow after watching those videos!  I love my BIG girl--but I forgot how great babies are!

How precious is that face!  She was totally cracking up on camera--everytime she laughed her whole face would light up.  See? TOTAL BABY FEVER! **sigh**

--------------------------------------------------------------------

This is one of the best work weeks ever!  I had yesterday off, am working Tuesday & Wednesday in the office, and then leave first thing Thursday morning for Boston!  It is a short trip ((I will be back home Friday afternoon))  whicih is perfect! I am going to supervise the set up of our new company booth at a coference.  Sometimes, I really do love my job!

Happy Tuesday!!

i've come to realize...

I’ve come to realize that my job...
is crazy.  I have a mixed bag of job responsibitlites, and although it can sometimes be a bit crazy I know that it only helps me in the end.

I’ve come to realize that when I’m driving...
I am a nervous reck!  I am still ((after 6 years)) not a great driver is rush hour traffic here in the Big D.

I’ve come to realize that I need...
to have more "me" time.  I get so stressed out and I just need to remind myself that it is OK to take care of JUST ME every once and a while.

I’ve come to realize that I have lost...
time worrying about things I simply cannot change.

I’ve come to realize that I hate it when...
people say one thing, but really mean something else.  I'm not a mind reader!

I’ve come to realize that money...
makes the world go round.

I’ve come to realize that certain people...
will NEVER change.

I’ve come to realize that I’ll always...
consider my "home" to be in Ohio.

I’ve come to realize that my sibling(s)...
get better with age. Don't we all?  I remember hating  most of my siblings when I was younger, but now they are some of my very best friends.

I’ve come to realize that my mom...
lives way too far away.  I miss her sooo much!  I am grateful for our long phone convos and our yearly vacations to see each other.  still ---she lives just a little too far away ;(

I’ve come to realize that my cell phone...
is a slice of heaven.  the iPhone can do nearly everything.  My newest obsession is the Tab Tab Revenge 3 app that i just downloaded.  ((its like guitar hero for your phone!))

I’ve come to realize that when I woke up this morning...
I hit the snooze button too many times and ended up missing my alarm.  oops.

I’ve come to realize that last night before I went to sleep...
that i LOVE Guliana & Bill--they are so cute together!

I’ve come to realize that right now I am thinking...
that I have got to go get my eyes checked.  I end up with a horrible head ache at the end of everyday from straining.  **sigh**

I’ve come to realize that my dad...
doesn't realize all that he has missed out on.  I am lucky to have such a FABULOUS step dad who stepped up to the plate for him.

I’ve come to realize that when I get on Facebook...
I read all the latest status updates, but forget to check my "notices" until after I logout.

I’ve come to realize that today...
has been a little trying.  Hoping that tonight and the rest of the week are not as stressful.

I’ve come to realize that tonight...
i am going to get my favorite bottle of wine and just RELAX.

I’ve come to realize that tomorrow...
is going to be great!  Finally getting my hur did by Tyron :)

I’ve come to realize that I really want to...
go on an anniversary trip with the hubs ((we are working on it!))

I’ve come to realize that life...
is complicated and messy---but so worth the ride.

I’ve come to realize that this weekend...
is going to be fun!  we have a graduation "roast" to attend, and priss is having her very first sleep -over at a FRIEND's house!  ((my baby is growing up :( ))

I’ve come to realize that my friends...
are a constant source of reassurance--both in real life, and here in bloggy world!  ((seriously, you girls are so great!))

I’ve come to realize that this year...
is going to be a year of the "FIVES".  I turn TWENTY-FIVE in June.  Justin and I will celebrate FIVE years of marriage in July.  Ava will be FIVE in August.  I will celebreate FIVE years at my Company in October.  YIKES!

I’ve come to realize that my husband...
is alot wiser and stronger than I realized.  He knows me better than I sometimes know myself.

I’ve come to realize that maybe I should...
laugh more and worry less.  I doubt this will ever be a reality, but I realize it all the same.

I’ve come to realize that I love...reality tv. kardashians.guliana&bill.bachelor.americanidol.soyouthinkyoucandance.projectrunway.  NEED I SAY MORE?

I’ve come to realize that I don’t understand...
too many things to list on this one. that is why I hope to learn something new every single day.

I’ve come to realize my past...
is just that--my past.  it has for better or worse shaped who I am today.

I’ve come to realize that parties...
are stressful--if you are the one hosting. This probably sounds like a conflict of interest considering that I am an event coordinator.   But in all honesty, THAT should explain why parties stress me out!  :)

I’ve come to realize that I’m totally terrified...
of food. seriously.  I think I need to see someone about my phobia.  It has definately gotten worse as I have gotten older.

I’ve come to realize that my life...is exactly how it is supposed to be.  I am looking forward to the changes that will come my way!

spread the love...

I have a pretty fantastic husband. He is definately the perfect match for my target loving, scream when I am mad, snuggly, wear my heart on my sleeve, a smidge OCD, money spending self.  He is the calm one. The PATIENT one.  The strong one.  He doesn't care if I forgot to wash his clothes, or if I just want to lay around in my pj's all day.  He doesn't care too much when I get on one of my OCD cleaning sprees and threaten to throw away EVERYTHING.  He lets me scream and yell and slam cupboard doors when I am angry and just lets me blow off steam.  He is great.  My nearly perfect husband.  He is not, however, any sort of romantic.  He is and will most like always be the cheap frugal one on our family.  He will never understand the sentimental value in sending flowers, or buying me something just because.  He always says I shouldn't need a holiday to know how much he loves me.  And he is right, for the most part.

But what girl doesn't want a little something on 2-14? Luckily for me, Katie is hosting a super cute L.O.V.E swap!

So go sign yourself up!  It is such a great way to meet and get to know even more wonderful bloggers!!

Thank you Jax  for letting me know about this super cute swap!

Happy Tuesday!

ask and you shall recieve...

Ava added "wolla skates" to her Christmas list a little too late.  Luckily, my dad called the Saturday before Christmas asking what to get her...and I had the perfect idea :)  Here is priss on Christmas morning in all her glory:

After countless laps around our carpeted house, we figured it was a good a time as any to take her to the roller skating rink!  So this past Saturday we headed to WestLake Skate Center for a little ton of family fun!

As you can see, the rink was still stuck way back in the 80's, but it was still a blast!  I thought for sure I wouldn't remember how to do it, but as it would turn out--skates are alot like riding a bike--you really do always remember how to do it!

Giving Daddy some loving before braving the rink!

And Mommy too ;)

Pure .talent.

Every other lap, Ava would ask to set down because she was tired.  REALLY?!?!?  Pretty sure Justin & I kept her upright EVERY single lap :)

We only had a few minor mishaps.  I may or may not have rolled over one of priss's fingers during one of her 182983793 falls.  Justin may or may not have totally face planted while making a lap by himself and totally blamed it on the fact that his wheel got stuck. ((this was so PRICELESS!))  I will say I mananged to be the only Emerson of the family who didn't have a minor/major spill!

After about 45 minutes, Ava decided she was done.  While taking off our skates she declared, "I HATE skating.  It hurts my freakin feet!" Gotta love her honesty!

All in all, it was another great "first experience" for us, even if we won't be heading back to the rink any time soon :)

wordless wednesday...
