tricks & treats and all kind of sweets...

i swear, i am being punished.  i have a child who loves to get candy, but doesn't eat it!  Needless to say, my hips are in extreme danger :)  we had so much fun trick-or-treating our way from house to house with the cutest sailor and puppy dog.  don't believe me? here is the proof!

we couldn't start the fun without a little impromptu photo shoot. the lighting was complete perfection!

fall festival...

we celebrated fall with our favorite emerson's on saturday evening by heading out to the town fall festival. there were bounce houses, food, and people galore.  we even got to get up close and personal with a fire truck!

the pumpkin patch...

our first trip to the pumpkin patch with each of our kiddos!  ava is such a big kid now, and wasn't all that excited.  preston just wanted to eat the pumpkins, and loved putting his bare feet in the grass.  precious kiddos. precious memories. perfect day.

life is full of surprises...

this past thursday, ava & i hopped on a plane for a surprise visit to see my family up north!  mom cried, and dad looked as though he might pass out at the sight of us! it was a whirlwind weekend.  the kind that was busy, but fun, and filled with lots of laughter and love (and maybe just a tad bit of stress).  i loved seeing ava making her childhood memories, watching her play with her cousins and get love from her nana, papa, and aunts & uncles.  we flew back to texas late monday night.  it was a great weekend!

ava did serious bonding with mr. corbin.  it was great seeing them get along so well.  he followed her around calling her 'rayrah' and she mothered him like no other.  so cute to see.

ava was pretty concerned, and quickly helped him zip back up ;)

they had some fun in the 'hop tub' with nana on saturday afternoon.

This is gunner.  he is the cutest, sneakiest little dude.  here i caught him emptying nana's drawer.

ava and raace.  she got to spend some time with him at his house with aunt amanda and jump on the trampoline while i took my mom to get a walker.  she broke her ankle three weeks ago and has been confined to a wheel chair.  the walker will help her get around a little better!
